St Andrew’s Anglican, Cowichan Station (now abandoned)

Photographed 2006.

When we returned in 2016, this charming English country church was locked and apparently abandoned. The delicate cedar structures are rotting to dust; even the grounds are dissolving.

The stunning Crucifixion Memorial Window may not live to be 100, one of the most precious memorials in British Columbia left to fate. Read an English discussion of this window’s provenance through the famous studio of William Morris. PB
