The boatman’s shirt, hat and paddle all place him in a more recent century than the two Apostles.

Is the boatman symbolic or specific? He might be a depiction of Henry Kelsey, who traveled through Prince Albert by river in 1692. Could he be Peter Pond, a founding member of the North West Company who established a trading post here in 1796?

Or is he Rev. James Nisbet, who established the Presbyterian mission at Prince Albert in 1866?
