After the famous 1853 painting by the English artist William Holman Hunt. This is possibly the most familiar subject in all of Canadian pictorial glass, found in hundreds of Protestant churches across the country. In the Spring of 2009, the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto exhibited SIN AND SALVATION: the English Artist Holman Hunt and the Pre-Raphaelite Vision. The exhibition brought together more than 60 works, including some of Hunt’s most famous paintings, The Awakening Conscience, The Light of the World and Isabella and the Pot of Basil.
