Elizabeth (1207-1231) was a member of the Hungarian royal family. Her charitable work with the sick and the poor led to the Franciscan monks founding their first Hungarian monastery in 1225. The repurposing of the two windows from the earlier building reinforces the ecological themes in Lee Brady’s modern windows.
