Saint Boniface Cathedral was originally a small log chapel constructed in 1818. A grand cathedral opened in 1906. In 1968 a fire brought down most of the cathedral, but left the front facade standing, as pictured in this window. Four years later, a new cathedral, designed by Etienne Gaboury and Denis Lussier, was built behind the facade.
