The church’s vast murals were executed in the traditional buon fresco (wet-plaster) technique, a method of painting directly onto the fresh plaster, rarely used in Canada. Guido Nincheri mastered this technique in Florence where he was born and educated, perhaps the only Canadian who worked with the technique.
