The decorative design of the colossal light, a web surrounded by scallops with a central circle, is a structural manifestation of the glazier’s art. The skylight’s decorative elegance adds grandeur to a grand building.

The introduction of daylight to the heart of the building is similar to the primary function of stained glass in great European cathedrals: to provide natural light in a controlled fashion.
