The Crest, or Shield, is divided into 3 horizontal bands. The top band displays two fleurs de lys on a blue background. The bottom band displays three gold maple leafs, representing Canada, on a red background. The middle band displays a heraldic Lion with blue claws and tongue, representing the Crown. Sitting atop these symbols is the Royal Crown, representing Quebec’s current relationship with England. The Motto, “Je Me Souviens” – ‘I Remember’ – is in gold lettering beneath the Shield.
