Amedee Forget (1847-1923) was the last Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest Territories, and the first Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Saskatchewan (founded in 1905). He was a member of this parish. Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier appointed him Lieut. Gov. of the NWT in 1898. The town of Forget, Saskatchewan is named after him.
