Three entirely distinct forms of glass are in play here: the Rault studio windows, almost uniquely among glass artists, used two forms of stained glass: conventional fired vitreous enamel for the figure, as in medieval times; dalle de verre (aka slab or faceted glass), which was developed early in the 20th century; and standard industrial clear glass.
