The headdress of the Indigenous Canadian in the lower corner is a unique creation by Andre Rault of France. A very black African is nearly invisible among the Asians in the right panel.
The gold and red background – and the headdress – are rendered in dalle de verre aka “slab glass”; conventional vitreous enamel colours the figures, faces, clothing and hands; all the pieces are set in lead cames.
