Ictus is the Greek word for “fish” and was used by persecuted early Christians as a code word for Christ. Symbols include the Cross, a Lamp of Learning and the cruel Roman whip known as a “Cat o’ nine tails.” The twelve large chunks of dalle de verre represent the Twelve Apostles, of whom Andrew was one.
