Like its two predecessors, the “Scottish castle” designed by Francis Rattenbury and Samuel Maclure in 1903 was also destroyed by fire in 1957! The porte-cochère survived that fire and was incorporated in the fourth mansion of 1959. Canadian fire safety standards have now been applied we trust.
