Gaboury’s vision for the church addressed the spiritual life of man on the prairie. Above the west entry is the great red sun, a pagan eastern symbol of God. It shines in the force of red elemental fire. Surrounding this recurrent symbol of life and God is the white circle of purity, and the outer beige circle of life. This is imposed on a blue cross against dark grey, the colour of mystery. The power of God, in Nature and in Spirit, is suggested in its relation to the new life, of the man entering the church.
