Wary de Lucy was a humanist nobleman, and was the Prior and probably primary support of the Benedictine Priory at Flavigny sur Moselle in 1533. His face is recorded as the sponsor of the splendid Adam and Eve window, and of others that are now at The Cloisters of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Although he lived within the spiritual community that his wealth supported, de Lucy was probably not a monk himself.
