The pictorial elements are painted in fired glass. The rich inch-thick dalle de verre background achieves its golden glow from real gold dust in a colloidal suspension. The Rault Studio manufactured this glass in a painstaking procedure in their own kilns. The colours in these photos are somewhat inaccurate. Because the window is lit artificially from behind, the colour temperature is different from what it would be with the natural exterior light of the original installation at the convent.
