An unscorched vault within an “ancient” ruin, Gaboury’s unexpected creation sits like a tabernacle within the walls of the old cathedral.

On July 22, 1968 the magnificent stone cathedral of 1906 was severely damaged in a fire, destroying many features including the huge rose window. Only the façade and walls of the old church remained.
