Unhappily there is little artistic power in the windows lining the nave, with the exception of the almost surreal White Window on the West side, with its pantomime of grieving faces at the Crucifixion.
But the lurid portrayal of Mary Magdalene as a brazen blonde is both demeaning and unhistorical.
The onlooking Jewish priests show a dark satisfaction sometimes claimed by Christian anti-Semites.
